Air health hazards

September 28, 2016 | Air Quality

Air leaks can cause mold and mildew, in addition to wasting money and energy!

The rising cost of energy has left many homeowners searching for a more efficient way to heat and cool their home while reducing the cost at the same time. Unfortunately, too few builders have incorporated more efficient and healthy insulation alternatives into their building practices.

Airborne moisture, resulting in mold and mildew, allergens and even unwanted outdoor noise are a direct result of not having the building envelope properly sealed.

To minimize energy loss an insulation that directly attacks the problem of air leaks is the first step in reducing energy costs.

Knowing that air leaks out of every crack,  gap, door and window, it’s obvious that the best way to close those up would be to use a foam product with a high expansion rate. Something that fill in all those tight spots that traditional insulation could never do.

Besides reducing energy spending, Icynene™  eliminates cold and hot spots in the home by evenly distributing the insulation during its expansion process.  Icynene™  will never sag or settle, thus avoiding problems after installation and finish work.

Icynene™ is also perfect for minimizing unwanted noise in areas of plumbing runs, home theaters and workshops.

* A building envelope is the physical separator between the conditioned and unconditioned environment of a building including the resistance to air, water, heat, light, and noise transfer. (Wikipedia)
